WHAT IS PRECAST?

What is Precast?
Precast applications are preferred due to the optimal solutions both for esthetic and technical view of today's architecture. Alkali resistant (AR) glass fibers are used to provide superior technical properties in comparison to conventional cement by offering weight reduction. Apart from the easy installation, precast can be shaped easily according to the esthetical expectations by creating different textures. Due to all these technical and esthetical advantages precast opened a new window in construction industry from the very first day of its application in 70's. Precast (GRC / GFRC - glass fiber reinforced concrete) is a product obtained by casting concrete (alkali resistant (AR) glass fibers and other chemical additives materials plus the mixture of cement, sand and water) in molds with different methods. Precast has a complex technical background which is usually not noticed at first sight due to its simple content. In addition to the esthetical properties precast is expected to fullfill technical requirements (i.e.: High resistance). Due to that fact single steps such as mixing ratio, content of the mixture have to be combined with stable production operation to enable reliable products. Taking all the benefits into account precast is being used frequently for more than 40 years in various fields to provide one of the best siding solutions for architecture. Precast applications are being used in restoration of historical buildings, external façade siding of public buildings, private buildings, industrial buildings and also crucial buildings such as airports, hospitals, schools, business centers.
